A series of pathways were to be introduced in order to give better access to visitors along the steep and inhospitable banks. A Pendulus Birch and a pair of multi-stemmed Cornus will provide height and perches for birds. The lower layers are planted with mix of ever green and deciduous grasses and small shrubs. The project investigated the history of flooding events along the length of the Tolka over the past 300 years. Three sites were chosen in Dublin's north inner city and a series of Soft Engineering measures were developed for each site as they were . becoming more and more urgent as time proved the winter following the submission of this project.
